This page explains how to delete a Rowsh account and the personal data linked to it. It applies to the same account wherever you use it: in the browser, the Rowsh desktop app, and the Rowsh apps for iPhone and Android. Uninstalling an app does not delete the account.
Every Rowsh account belongs to a workspace run by a Rowsh customer, such as your employer, agency, or team. That customer controls the workspace and its content, so you can ask either the workspace administrator or Rowsh.
1. Ask your workspace administrator
This is the quickest route. An administrator can delete your account in the workspace under Users. Deletion takes effect immediately.
2. Ask Rowsh
Email team@rowsh.com with the subject "Account deletion request" from the email address on the account, and include your workspace address (for example yourteam.rowsh.com). You can also select "Data protection request or complaint" on the Contact page.
- Rowsh may ask for proportionate information to confirm the request comes from you.
- Where the request involves workspace content, Rowsh tells the workspace administrator, who controls that content.
- Rowsh completes verified requests within one month and confirms by email when the account is deleted.
3. What is deleted
- Your ability to sign in, on every device and app.
- Your name, email address, profile photo, and profile details. Where your name appeared, the workspace shows "Deleted User".
- Private files that only you could see.
- Assignments to you: your tasks become unassigned.
4. What is kept, and why
- Content you shared with other people in the workspace, such as chat history and shared, team, or project files, stays in the workspace attributed to "Deleted User". It belongs to the workspace, and the workspace administrator can delete it.
- Records Rowsh must keep for legal, tax, security, or dispute reasons are retained only as described in the Privacy Notice. Backups that still contain deleted data are overwritten on their normal schedule.
5. Deleting a whole workspace
A workspace owner can ask Rowsh to close the workspace and delete its content by emailing team@rowsh.com from the owner's account email.
